Hello everyone,
I, like most of you, want to be a better person. I want to be stronger, faster, more capable, better prepared, and able to fulfill the virtuous needs of others. Every day, I desire to improve and become a better individual.
The world around me does not support this cause. I am bombarded with messages of weakness, evil, and inadequacies. For example, everything from the bumbling sitcom dad to the absent fathers in parenting magazines sends me a clear message: fatherhood is useless. As a father, I want to do the best job I can for my children and my wife. But the world’s messages are at odds with my desire for greatness.
You must accept that if you want to be better, you will have the added difficulty of fighting the world. Do you want to get in better shape? You are fatphobic and should feel terrible. Do you want to start a family? You are a breeder and will contribute to climate change. Are you pursuing virtue instead of vice? You are privileged and should repent for being better than others.
Our collectivist society does not like individual excellence. Thus, your pursuit of greatness will be met with hateful, subtle messages meant to rob you of vitality and focus.
Your first step? Acknowledge what is true. Weak individuals hate you for your stability, virtue, and greatness. And they have built a world designed not to attack you directly but to leave you demoralized. You will not see yourself in mainstream media. Those with influence and power will not celebrate your pursuit of greatness. The mob will not love you.
I implore you not to give up. The world needs you. You need you. The world suffers from a lack of greatness. You can fill that void and make everyone’s world that much better.
Fitbod
Despite what many crazy people argue, being out of shape is not good. Please understand that working out is challenging, and you should always be gracious with your progress. However, you should never settle.
I had a hard time seeing progress when I went to the gym. However, I found Fitbod. Fitbod is a great app for helping me map my progress and find the best exercises. Believe it or not, this is not paid promotion. I genuinely love using this app and want you to know about it.
Fitbod gives you a wide selection of options. It will track previous exercises, inform you of new personal records, advise you on what muscle groups to rest, and offers more than a hundred exercises that target various body parts.
The price as of this writing is $79.99/yr, which is infinitely cheaper than a trainer.
They have a free trial, which I suggest using.
It’s a great app and well worth the cost if you want to get serious about exercise and making progress.
